Rose B. (DiMaggio) Kinback, 91, of Shrewsbury, died December 20, surrounded by her loving family in Franklin following a brief illness.
Born in New York City on July 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Oronzo DiMaggio and Bruna (Palumbo) Simeone, Rose was raised in the Bronx section of New York City and lived in Beverly and Marshfield for many years before moving to Shrewsbury.
A dedicated homemaker, Rose was active in the Marshfield Senior Center and at her churches. She was known for her great sense of humor, her colorful jokes, her warmth and her savvy fashion sense.
Rose served in the Navy during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Yeoman 3rd Class. While stationed at Pearl Harbor, she met her beloved future husband, Albert Kinback.
Rose is survived by her children, Mark Kinback and his wife Martha, of Shrewsbury, Meri Kuvent of Chandler, Arizona, Karen Hubbard and Michael Mulhern of Marshfield, Linda Doherty and her husband Stephen of Franklin, Christopher Kinback and his wife Kara, of Columbia, South Carolina, and son-in-law William Galdi of Burlington, Vermont.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Kinback, daughter, Judy Galdi, son-in-law, Robert Kuvent and sister, Gloria DiMaggio.
She was the loving and spirited Nanny Rose to her grandchildren Emily Anderson and her husband Bryan, Matthew Kinback and his wife Ashlee, Christopher Kinback, Erin Kinback, Peter Galdi and his wife Angela, Joseph Galdi, Jillian Mulhern and her husband Mark, Jared Kuvent, Zack Kuvent, Ethan Kuvent, Bradley Hubbard and his wife Lori, Timothy Hubbard and his wife Stephanie, Allison Hadley and her husband Gregory, Michael Doherty, Robert Doherty and his fiancee Hannah Srebnik, Sarah Doherty and her fiance Timothy Casey, Lana Kinback and Eva Kinback.
She adored her great-grandchildren Tyler Galdi, Tate and Drew Galdi, Emilia and Molly Mulhern, Charlie, Andie and Drew Anderson, Emerson and Lily Kinback, Bradley and Benjamin Hubbard, Timothy, Caroline and William Hubbard, and Lucy Hadley.
She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral mass will be private.
