WORCESTER - Dorothy P. “Dottie” (Baillargeon) Magnusson, 70, died on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, after a brief illness. She leaves three daughters, Melissa Barnes and her husband Glenn of Worcester, Christine Sousa and her husband Luis of Hudson, Stacy M. Flores and her husband Elias of Oxford; four brothers, Oscar, Jr., Joseph, John and William Baillargeon; four sisters, Doreen Shays, Georgeanna Broadard, Linda Shays and Marjorie Baillargeon; her aunt, Mildred Mercon; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her son, Paul R. Magnusson, and her sister, Pat Simpson, both predeceased her.
She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Oscar G. Baillargeon, Sr. and Winifred J. (Baker) Baillargeon. She was the oldest of 11 children and a life-long resident of the city. She loved to crochet and knit, especially for her grandchildren, and playing “her” games on her iPad. She will be remembered for spending her life caring for and doing for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the king, “Elvis”, and loved the color purple.
The family suggests that anyone attending Dottie’s services is encouraged to honor her by wearing something purple.
CALLING HOURS will be held from 8:30 to 10 A.M. on SATURDAY, DEC. 26th in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., followed by a FUNERAL SERVICE in Celebration of Dottie's Life at 10 A.M. in the Funeral Home.
