Obituary

Worcester – Claire Rose Marie (Charest) Evans, 83, of Worcester, died on Thursday, December 17th at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a brief illness.

Claire is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Bradley of Chepachet, RI and Theresa Moylan of Worcester; three sons, Kevin Moylan of West Boylston, MA, Daniel Moylan of Queen Creek, Arizona and Donald Moylan of Chandler, Arizona; three step sons, Thomas Evans Jr. of Plymouth, MA, Dennis Evans of Delray, FL and James Evans of Tewksbury, MA; 19 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Evans was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Oscar and Lena (Thibeault) Charest and is also predeceased by her husbands, Walter Moylan who passed away in 1981 and Thomas Evans who passed away in 2001 as well as a brother, Edward Charest and Sister Germaine Simkus.

Claire worked as a stitcher for the R.J. Toomey Company in Worcester and then focused her time as a mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends while camping. She could often be found doing crossword puzzles or reading. Claire enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in making sure her yard was always kept in good condition. She will be missed by her family and especially by her granddaughter, Danielle who had a close bond with her grandmother.

Funeral services are being held privately and are under the direction of Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Claire may be made to Shriners hospital for Children, Donor Relations, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa FL 33607
