John Humphries Seanor, 94, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, December 17, 2020, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Monday, December 21, 2020 at Leesburg Cemetery, in Leesburg, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Wright officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Seanor was born November 7, 1926, in Hawkinsville, Georgia, to the late Preston & Orleans Humphries Seanor. He lived in the community all of his life and was a teacher, a school administrator with the Ben Hill County Board of Education and a farmer. Mr. Seanor was the second oldest member of the American Legion Post 99, with over 82 years of membership. He was a member of the Rotary Club and he was a Mason. He was known for his woodworking skills and his culinary expertise. Mr. Seanor was also an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son Bill Seanor & wife, Erin; five grandchildren: Kelby Seanor, Chris Guilbeau, Paul & Sonja Guilbeau, Brian & Jessica Guilbeau, Michelle & Richard Hernandez; one great-grandchild, Brock Guilbeau and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Seanor; two step-sons: Larry Guilbeau and Kenneth Guilbeau and a sister, Laurien Davis
