Cleveland "Cleve" George Winser, 69, of Enigma passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Winser will be laid to rest at Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Cook County with the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. COVID-19 protocol will be observed at both the visitation and the funeral service.
Chris Hall, John McClain, Jeffrey Gray, Rodney Gray, Jacob Drawdy and Joseph Phillips will serve as pallbearers.
Born September 19, 1951 in Cook County, Mr. Winser was the son of the late William G. Winser and Marie Joiner Winser. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Childers; and one brother, Paul Winser. He graduated from Lowndes County High School and, before retiring in 2017, he was a sheet metal cutter at Heatcraft in Tifton. He loved hunting, fishing and working in the yard and, above all, he loved his family. He was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God and he was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Winser is survived by his wife, Alice Sandifer Winser of Enigma; one son, Allen Winser of Brookfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Antonio Melendez of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Kathy Winser of Adel and William and Maria Winser of Nashville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joyce and Ronnie Gray of Anderson, South Carolina, Susan Collins of Hahira and Patsy and John Egolf of Sparks; eight grandchildren, Shaina Phillips and husband Joseph, Cale Childers, Caleb Winser, Cameron Winser, Helen Winser, Jose Melendez, Reyna Melendez and Rosalynda Melendez; and six great-grandchildren.
