Lucy J. (DeBenedictis) LoRusso passed away peacefully at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 90. She was the daughter of the late Carmine and Maria DeBenedictis.
Lucy was born and raised in the North End. Once married she and her husband Joe bought a home and settled in Somerville where they raised their children. Lucy was a dedicated wife and mother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed a long career as a sales associate with Jordan Marsh Co. in Boston. She continued to work during the transition to Macy's and later retired. She and Joe enjoyed travelling and took their family on many fun trips.
The beloved wife of the late Joseph A. LoRusso, Lucy was a devoted mother to Anthony LoRusso and his wife Lorena of Texas, Joseph LoRusso and his wife Kimberly of N. Reading, and Denise M. LoRusso of Cambridge. She was a loving grandmother of Liam and Ambar. Lucy also leaves her last surviving sibling, Frances McMahon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Lucy on Wednesday, December 23 in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours are kindly omitted. Please follow social distancing protocols while attending services.
