Jean L. (Gormley) Thompson age 92 of Bridgewater, formerly of East Bridgewater and Daytona Beach, Florida, died December 10, 2020 after a period of failing health. She was the devoted wife of the late Anthony Thompson.
Jean was born and raised in Greenock, Scotland a daughter of the late Philip and Rose (Laughran) Gormley and came to the United States in 1967. She had worked as a stitcher at Stride Rite Shoe in Brockton for many years.
In her free time, Jean enjoyed knitting and crocheting items for her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as simple, selfless and very caring person.
Jean was the mother of Anthony Thompson of Mashpee, Rose Johnson of Bridgewater, Jean Hamilton of Bridgewater and Mary Carlino of Hyannis and the late Samuel Thompson and Gerald Thompson. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and her sister in law Isabel Gormley of Bridgewater. Jean was the sister of the late Mary Paul, Philip Gormley, Archie Gormley and Rose Johnston.
