Harry J. Grant, 68, of Walter Carey Road, Smithfield, died Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Greenville Health Center. He was the husband of Linda M. (Annaldo) Grant. They had been married for 48 years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Yvette M. (Boisvert) Grant. He had lived in Smithfield for the past 43 years and had previously lived in Johnston.
Harry was an electrician with the IBEW Local 99 for 24 years before retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Rhode Island Trials Club and New England Trials Association, where he became the 20th inductee to the NETA Hall of Fame on October 22, 2020 which was a very proud moment in his life. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and a representative for Miniature Air Craft where he mentored many young RC airplane and helicopter enthusiasts. Whatever Harry did he did with 100% exuberance such as running 3 marathons including both the Boston and Ocean State Marathon or riding his bicycle from Smithfield to Bristol just for fun or cutting down hundreds of trees and making his own outdoor benches from the wood. He inspired others with his determination. He was a one of kind personality and will be missed by so many.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Kayla A. Grant of Smithfield and son, Harry J. Grant, III of Bryson City, NC, his father in law, Joseph Annaldo and his wife, Gailia, of Providence and a sister, Donna Paolo of Johnston, brother in-law Christopher Mignone (Jackie), and nieces, nephews, friends and family. He was the brother of the late Sandra Grant.
