Obituary



Pauline Mae (Comer) Stewart, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13th, 2020, after a long illness.
Pauline was born April 22nd, 1940 to the late Bernard and Agnes (Zengilowski) Comer. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Stewart Jr. She is survived by her three children, a son; Edward H. Stewart III of Franklin, MA., and two daughters and their husbands; Stewart & Jeanne Marie Chase of Chase Mills, NY., and Christopher & Maureen Lepak of Brookfield, MA. She is survived also by two brothers Phillip Comer, of Barnstable, MA, and Leonard Comer of Stoneham, Ma, and her sister Kathleen Comer-Wilder of Woonsocket, RI. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pauline was born and raised in Stoneham, Massachusetts, where she was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish and attended St. Patrick’s school. She graduated from Stoneham High School in 1957. In her yearbook Pauline was described by her classmates as “a perfect lady…. worthwhile… gentle”, a precise description of the qualities she has embodied throughout her life. She had attended Massachusetts College of Art and was a talented artist.
She was a resident of Franklin, Massachusetts for the past 53 years Pauline was a good listener and a faithful friend to many. She had a deep compassion for all living things and was very kind to animals.
She was a retired school bus driver of 35 years, with W.T. Holmes Transportation Company in Norfolk Ma. She drove bus #14 for Tri-County Regional Vocational High School in Franklin, Ma.
She enjoyed having her morning coffee while reading the “Herald”. She was very creative and skilled at many things, including a passion for gardening. She appreciated a good joke and could find humor in almost any of life’s circumstances. All who had the privilege to know her would agree that she was a beautiful woman inside and out.
Her children have chosen to honor her life at a later date, when they may be able to share her story among more of her friends and family. As her birthday coincides with Earth Day, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, all who would like to honor her, consider planting a tree in her memory on April 22nd, 2021.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 21 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin from 4-7 p.m.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 22 in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin 1:00 p.m.
