CHICOPEE – Leo A. LaJeunesse, 84, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, December 14, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born at home in Chicopee on April 4, 1936, a beloved son of the late Herve A. and Anna E. (Morin) LaJeunesse. He was raised in Chicopee where he lived his entire life. He was employed as a machinist at the Acme Chain Company in Holyoke and later was a mechanic at U-Haul on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. Many years ago, he was the owner of B & L Cycle Sales in Holyoke. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. He was a member of the Tigers Athletic Club and the American Legion where he was a member of the motorcycle club, both in Chicopee. In his leisure time, he enjoyed being on the open road riding his Honda. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. Leo leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Cynthia A. “Cindy” (Bruce) LaJeunesse. They were married on August 19, 1960 in Springfield and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. He also leaves his three loving children, Ronald G. “Ron” LaJeunesse and his wife, Deborah, of Polk, PA, Richard J. “Rick” LaJeunesse and Roxanne Lengieza and her husband, Mark, all of Chicopee; his seven cherished grandchildren; his eight cherished great grandchildren; his two dear sisters, Doris Beaulieu and her husband, Malcolm and Jeanne Beaulieu and her husband, Michael, all of New Hampshire; his dear brother-in-law, Ralph Bruce of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his cherished grandchildren, Justin J. LaJeunesse who was Called Home on December 14, 2009 and Edward R. “Eddie” Lengieza who was Called Home on December 11, 2017; his cherished great-granddaughter, Sophia Marie Mastej who was Called Home on June 17, 2008; his dear brother, Girard “Red” LaJeunesse; and his two dear sisters, Anita Gauthier and Janet Bessonette and her husband, Ernest. His family wishes for everyone to be safe at this time of uncertainty. There are no visiting hours. His Funeral Services and Burial will be private at Sainte Rose Cemetery in Chicopee.
