Obituary



Worcester – Leo R. Fletcher Sr., 74, of Pleasant St. passed away on March 12 in Saint Vincent Hospital with his loving family by his side after a long battle with emphysema.
Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife of 52 years Marie B. (Martel) Fletcher; a son Leo Fletcher Jr. both of Worcester; two daughters Beverly Hebert of Worcester and Jane Tromovitch of Shrewsbury; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a niece Vonnie Johnson and her husband Larry of North Attleboro; cousins Shirley and Norman Lander of Belchertown and Joan Mills of Jefferson; his best friend Tom Gremo of Northbridge; and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Fletcher is predeceased by a son David Bonin who died in 1995 and 16 brothers and sisters. He was born in Breckinridge, MN son of Charles and Theresa (Ream) Fletcher.
He is a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Fletcher worked as a chef for over 30 years at the Webster House Restaurant.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Townsend and enjoyed carpentry, deep sea fishing, cooking, spending time with his family and his pets Onyx, Lucky, Daisy, Pretty Boy, Lady and Snoopy.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday March 15, from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 10 AM in Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday March 14, from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
