Carlos A. Silva "Faísca"
LOWELL Carlos A. Silva "Faísca", 75 of Lowell, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Lima) Silva, whom he married in 1967 in Graciosa.
He was born on November 3, 1945 in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, and was a son of the late Isidro Silva and the late Dorothea Silva. He was raised and educated in Graciosa, where he made his home until 1969 when he joined his wife in the United States, settling in Lowell.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church, and enjoyed tending to his garden. He also enjoyed soccer, playing and watching the game. He was a lifelong supporter of S.L. Benfica. Carlos was the happiest when he was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
For more than fourteen years, he was lead man on the production line of Canada Dry before becoming affiliated with Chevrolet of Lowell as a lot attendant for nine years before his retirement in 2007.
In addition to his loving wife, Maria, he is survived by his children, Michael L. Silva of Lowell, Charles L. Silva of Lowell, Lucy L. Silva of Lowell, and Paula Silva of Lowell; his nine grandchildren; his brother and sister; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
