Socorro “Sally” Taubman, 87, of Derry, NH died Sunday December 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Sally was born in New York City, NY, a daughter of the late William and Julia Arroyo. She had resided in Derry since 1997, formerly of Freeport, NY. Sally worked as an operations manager for Dean Witter Reynolds until her retirement. She enjoyed motorcycling, sewing, knitting, reading and crossword puzzles as well as collecting lighthouses, Star Wars figures, and Taco Bell dogs. Sally was a survivor of the depression, polio, World War II, and cancer and COVID-19: a tough and courageous woman admired by many.
She is survived by her three children, Chris Ann Atkinson of Newark, DE, Dennis E. Andreas of Freeport, NY, and Patricia Bonaventura of Derry, NH and four grandchildren, Dennis A. Andreas, Christina Andreas, Elizabeth Bonaventura, and Angelo Bonaventura. Additionally, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Gail Kissinger of Milford, CT and Karin Shakorov of Israel, and nine step-grandchildren, Hannah, Paige, Tessa, Luke and Ben Kissinger, Evan, Chloe and Gabriel Poroslay, and Jordanna Shakorov. She was predeceased by her brother, William Arroyo, Jr. of Freeport, NY in August 2020, her first husband, Alfred R. Andreas in 1981, and her second husband, Robert M. Taubman in April 2020.
Private burial was held in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry, NH. The Peabody Funeral Homes of Derry and Londonderry assisted the family with arrangements.
