Obituary


Worcester – Janice M. (Hacker) Dame, 83, of Worcester, died peacefully on Sunday, December 13th in her home with her family by her side.

Janice was married for 58 years to the late Donald E. Dame, who passed away in 2015. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey M. Dame of Worcester and Kenneth D. Dame and his wife Cynthia of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Joanne Joly of Worcester and CathyLynn Lovely of Auburn; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Dame was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Maurice and Irene (Roberts) Hacker and is also predeceased by a sister, Carol Nye. She is a graduate of Shrewsbury High School and worked at the former Center Dairy Bar in Shrewsbury. Janice later went to work for both Monahan Pharmacy in Worcester and CVS Pharmacy before going to work for her son at Roland’s Radiator.

Mrs. Dame loved to be with her family and friends, she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and spending time in Dennis, MA at Corporation Beach. Janice was an avid bowler for many years and could also be found knitting or crocheting something for someone in her family. She also enjoyed decorating the hallways where she lived for all the seasons and holidays.

Funeral services are being held privately and are under the direction of Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester.
