CHICOPEE – Paul Doucette, 85, a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, December 13, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at the Beverly Hospital in Beverly, MA surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Fitchburg, MA on September 20, 1935, a beloved son of the late Irene B. (Doucette) Benoit. He was raised in Ludlow, attended the American School for the Deaf in Hartford, CT and had lived in Rockland, MA before moving to Chicopee in 1990. He was employed at the Friendly’s Restaurant in Windsor, CT. During his leisure time, he enjoyed working on puzzles, watching football games, spending time outdoors and enjoying a good beer and cigar. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and soul mate of 55 years, Sharon E. (Randall) Doucette who was Called Home on November 9, 2020. He leaves his three loving children, Brenda L. Doucette and her husband, Harry Pray, of Springfield, Christopher E. Doucette and his wife, Laura, of Ludlow and Lisabeth R. Brault and her husband, John, of Chicopee; his 11 cherished grandchildren, Jacqueline Doucette and Ashley, Marie, Nicholas, Haley, Matthew, Emma, Nyla, Kiley, Isabella and Camden Brault; his two cherished great granddaughters, Marley Chaves and Nina Morneau; his five dear half-brothers and half-sisters; his dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David Randall and Sydney Snyder, both of Granby; his dear cousin, Diane Doucette-Metivier; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. His relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (the parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home).
