Bernadette E. (Goulet) Muldoon, 100, of New Bedford passed away at home on Thursday December 10, 2020. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Muldoon.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Philomene (Beaulieu) Goulet, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mrs. Muldoon was a graduate of the Wilfred Academy in Boston, and in her younger years worked as a hairdresser.
Mrs. Muldoon and her late husband were instrumental in founding the Smith Street Center for Retarded Children, where she served as a board member. For years she was an advocate for other disabled children in the community and promoted education for people with disabilities.
Her faith and family were most important to her.
She is survived by five children, Michael Muldoon and wife Betty, Francis Muldoon, Dennis Muldoon and wife Martha, Bernadette Muldoon, and Paul Muldoon; her daughter-in-law, Theresa Muldoon; her brother, Armand Goulet; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Mark P. Muldoon, and sister of the late Amedee Goulet, George Goulet, Sr. Aurea Goulet, CSC, Yvonne Kozacka, Ida Wade, Alma Grace, Blanche Meunier, Lucy Callaghan, and Corrine Crape.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday December 19, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visiting hours are omitted. Attendees MUST wear a mask to be allowed entry to the services. Please practice social distancing and avoid any close contact.
