Tagoosh Vosghanian (Mehrabi) born October 1st, 1942 in Azna, Iran, and Hrach Vosghanian, born March 26, 1932 in Gharadagh, Iran, peacefully passed away respectively on December, 8th and December 9th, 2020.
Tagoosh was an elementary school teacher at the Alik Armenian School in Tehran, Iran, whereupon one of Hrach’s sisters concluded that despite his introverted demeanor, he would make a happy marriage with the ever-extroverted Tagoosh. Their efforts came to fruition and matchmaking successfully resulted in a marriage of 52 years. Like two love birds, they were constantly soaring in the sky yet they always landed and nested together on the same branch for their entire lives.
They immigrated to the United States in 1975, became naturalized American citizens, and settled in Belmont, Massachusetts.
Hrach was a do it all mechanic and maintenance supervisor for various manufacturing companies, while Tagoosh applied her devotion and incredible work ethic to building lasting relationships with her loyal customers at Filene’s/Macy’s in Belmont Center. Later Tagoosh worked at a daycare facility in Belmont where she was known for her remarkable talent for entering into a child’s world, making even the most frightened and shy children feel safe and comfortable.
Though they had no children of their own, circumstances blessed them with opportunity to raise their nephew, Allen Gevorkian, as their own son. They became “grandparents” to their nieces and nephew, Allen and Sona Gevorkian’s son and two daughters, and were also the favorite aunt and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Tagoosh loved to dance and was the center of every celebration while Hrach, shy, but a lover of backgammon, opened up to his friends during a game while admiring Tagoosh’s ability to give joy to others. They never lost sight of one another. Indeed, they understood and loved one another completely. They gave everything they could possibly give to others without spoiling them or us. Moreover, Hrach’s and Tagoosh’s love for each other, their faith, and their carrying on of Armenian traditions were of such intensity and joy to others that theirs was a truly unique marriage. Their love for each other and for their families gave us the confidence to spread our wings and become whomever we wished to be. Their union and the love they gave us is best described by a match made in heaven.
Tagoosh is survived by her sister Zaghik Gevorkian and her brother Thomas Mehrabi. She was also predeceased by her late sisters, Varter and Nakhshun and by her late brother Almas Mehrabi. Tagoosh was a loving aunt to many loving nieces and nephews and to many loving great nieces and great nephews.
Hrach is survived by his sisters Rose Ghoughassian, Adel Takvorian, Eleanor Ohanian, and Aida Zarookian. He was also predeceased by his late brother Antranig Voskanian. Hrach was also a loving uncle to many loving nieces and nephews, and many loving great nieces and great nephews.
