Obituary

FALL RIVER – Silvino G. Estrela, age 90, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2020 at Catholic Memorial Home. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Pimentel) Estrela. Born in Fenais da Luz, St. Michael, Acores, he was the son of the late Manuel G. and Guilhermina (Macedo) Estrela. Silvino was an avid fisherman. He had a gift for growing plants and flowers. Spending time with his family was most important. The most precious moments were spent engineering contraptions with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife he is survived by his children Abilio “Billy” and Kathy Estrella of Swansea, Alda and Ron Dufault of Swansea and Mario Jorge Estrella of Fall River; siblings Tony Estrella of San Diego, CA, Connie Felix of Westport and Angie Medeiros of Tiverton; 3 grandchildren Meagan and Billy Estrella and Derek Dufault; as well as several nieces and nephews. Silvino was predeceased by his brother Manuel Estrela.

Due to the expectedly inclement weather conditions, his funeral has changed to FRIDAY, Dec. 18th with extended calling hours from 9-10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Arrangements were under the direction of Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River.
