William R. Bottcher III, 68, a longtime Worcester resident passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital after being struck ill at home.
Billy was born in Worcester the son of William R. Bottcher II and Norma (Sheeran) Jones. Billy graduated from North High School in Worcester with the class of 1970. He worked at Digital Equipment Corporation for 20 years before working as a retail salesperson until retiring in 2016. Family meant everything to him and he loved spending time with “his boys” every week. He was thrilled to finally obtain his sports car and enjoyed coin collecting, sports (Sox & Pats), cars, and gardening. He also hunted and fished with his grandfather John Sheeran Sr., step father Charles Jones, and his younger brothers.
Billy is survived by his son Jesse Bottcher and grandson Andrew Bottcher of Spencer (the boys), former wife Carol Bottcher of Dudley, mother Norma Jones of Rutland, brother Dennis Bottcher and his wife Anne Marie of Sturbridge, sister Kelly Muhr and her husband Michael of Shirley Mills ME, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Gary Bottcher and step father Charles Jones.
Billy’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring and devoted staff at St. Vincent Hospital, Kidney Dialysis Center.
Friends and relatives are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial to be held Monday, December 14th at 11:00 AM in Cathedral of Saint Paul, 38 High St, Worcester. Out of an abundance of caution calling hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 W Central Street, Natick, Massachusetts 01760 and New England Donor Services, 60 First Avenue, Waltham, Massachusetts 02451.
