Alfred J. "Jay" Dias, Jr., 64, of Dartmouth died November 26, 2020 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Alfred J. and Mary (Gonsalves) Dias, he lived in New Bedford most of his life before moving to Dartmouth.
Jay was formerly employed as a mason with the International Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen Union Local 3 for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed playing baseball in his youth.
Survivors include his son, Lance Altman of Fall River; his companion, Susan Lapointe of Dartmouth; 3 sisters, Jo-Ann Isaac of Fairhaven, Darlene Dias of Jenkintown, PA and Brenda Dias-King of Woodbridge, VA; his uncle, Manuel Dias; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Linda Dias and Donna Dias Sanders.
His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 13th from 1-5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His service and burial on Monday will be private due to Covid guidelines. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Life Pentecostal Church, 789 Main St. Acushnet, MA 02743.
