Age 90 of North St. Paul, formerly of Maplewood for 50 years and 10 years in Crystal, went into the arms of Jesus on December 9, 2020 from the advanced stage of Lewy Body Dementia surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Joseph L. “Joe” of 66 years, sons Gene (Francine), Duane (Darcy) and daughter Susan (Charles) Kramasz. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also survived by brother Henry (Ione) Niehoff, brothers-in-law Ed Richmeier, Henry Fox, Dick (Joan) Fox, Martin (Joanne) Fox, and sister-in-law Dorothy Niehoff. Ann was preceded in death by 7-year-old daughter, Mary Therese, parents William and Zita Niehoff, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and several in- laws. Ann, born June 29, 1930, was raised on a farm near River Falls, WI. After high school she attended the Miller Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as an LPN. She worked at Miller Hospital in St. Paul and North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. After she earned her "Put Hubby Through” (her PHT) degree, she became the loving mother of four children. As the children grew, she became a very active volunteer in several community organizations. At the top of her list, for over 25 years, was the Maplewood Nature Center. Her trail name was “Chickadee Ann”. Other volunteering included MOMS program at the St. Paul’s Priory, Life Care Center, St. John's Hospital, 4-H Club leader, and CCW at Church of St. Peter. Ann, a very devout Christian, was a very kind and gentle person. Humble beyond words, always finding the good in every person, without any judgement. Her family meant the world to her. She loved nature and everything about it, especially feeding and watching her birds, gardening and simply being in the great outdoors.
