New Bedford – Ruth (Johnson) Medeiros, 84, of E. Freetown died after a long illness at Mariner Health of Southeastern Massachusetts on March 11, 2006. She was the widow of Albert Medeiros.
Mrs. Medeiros was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Harry and Helen P. (Goewey) Johnson, and resided in E. Freetown for the past 36 years. She was employed by Taunton State Hospital as a housekeeper until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include a son: Harold Westgate and his wife Carol of Acushnet; 2 grandchildren: Sean Westgate of Fairhaven and Jamie Westgate of Acushnet; 2 great-grandchildren: Grace Ellyn Westgate and Oliver E. Westgate both of Fairhaven; and several nieces & nephews.
She was sister of the late Charles Johnson, James Johnson, Harold Johnson and Harry Johnson.

Funeral service on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 6:30 P.M. at the KIRBY FUNERAL HOME, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.
Visitation prior to funeral service on Tuesday, March 14, 2006, 4:00-6:30 P.M.
