Sandra Cobb Law, 73, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, December 4, 2020, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Lax Holiness Cemetery in Coffee County, Georgia, with the Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating and Jeff Law delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Law was born October 8, 1947, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late John Lewis Cobb and the late Drucilla Chaney Cobb. Her first job was working as a lifeguard at the city pool in Fitzgerald. She later worked at the Tastee Freeze. She was a 1965 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. After graduating, she attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and worked in maintenance at Delco Remy. Mrs. Law enjoyed plants and was a very hard-working person. Along with her husband, she farmed and grew countless tomatoes, squash and peas and hauled produce to Indiana and Kentucky and parts in between. They were also active in the Ocmulgee River Coon Hunting Club. She was a very empathetic person and shared triumphs and tragedies alongside her family and friends. Mrs. Law spent many years collecting Christmas gifts to be distributed to children in need. Following Hurricane Katrina, she and her husband worked for FEMA inspecting homes. For her 60th birthday, she jumped out of a perfectly good airplane….with a parachute of course. She was a beloved wife, mother, and sister. Her grandchildren would say they had the best “Nana”, who was always willing to spend time with them no matter the activity; after all, she did skydive once!! Mrs. Law was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gary Law of Fitzgerald; a son, Jeff Law & Teraye of Covington; a daughter, Starlet Ripstein & J.T. of Crawfordville, Florida; grandchildren: Andrew Law, Nicole Law, Tyler Ripstein and Jacob Ripstein; and a sister, Brenda & Fred McIntyre. Several nieces and nephews also survive including her sister’s children, Mecca McIntyre Lewis, and Matthew McIntyre, with whom Sandra had a very special relationship.
