David Joseph DeSouza, 76, of New Bedford passed away Sunday November 29, 2020 after a long illness. He was the husband of Judy A. (Smith) DeSouza.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Sarrao) DeSouza, he lived in Fairhaven and New Bedford for most of his life.
David was formerly employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing, the New Bedford Police Department, the Fairhaven School Department, and Whitney Academy in Freetown until his retirement.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, David W. DeSouza and Tammy L. DeSouza, both of New Bedford; and his siblings, Eugene DeSouza of Acushnet, Michael DeSouza and his wife Carol of New Bedford, and Linda Rezendez of Fairhaven.
His visitation will be held on Saturday December 5, 2020 from 12-2 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
