FALMOUTH – Thomas C. McGough, Jr., 82, of Falmouth, Massachusetts was Called Safely Home on Sunday, November 29, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at the Royal Nursing Center in Falmouth. He was born in Holyoke on August 23, 1938, a beloved son of the late Thomas C. McGough and Ruth G. (Bishop) McGough. His early years were spent in Holyoke before moving to Springfield and then Longmeadow where he lived for many years. He received a Batchelor’s Degree in engineering from Western New England College in Springfield. He later lived in Windsor, Connecticut and New York City before relocating to Falmouth in 2018. He was employed for 49 years as a Power Engineer for Combustion Engineering in Windsor, Connecticut. He was a communicant of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Athanasia V. “Foula” (Dakis) McGough who was Called Home on October 19, 2012. They were married on April 15, 1963 at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and were blessed with over 49 years of happiness together. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Trudy Muise. He leaves his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Michael T. McGough and his wife, Andrea DiCastro; his daughter and son-in-law, Christine A Gariepy and her husband, Paul; his granddaughter, Alexia Esteras and her husband, Jose; his two great-grandchildren, Sarah Ann Parks and Elijah Esteras; his two sisters, Jean McGough and Joan Gravelin and her husband, Charles; his brother-in-law, Ronald Muise; his sister-in-law, Maria Carellas and her husband, Theodore; and his many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. He will Lie in Repose on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. which will be followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. His burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
