Donald W. DeCosta, 87, of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at home. He was husband of the late Geraldine M. (Lake) DeCosta.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Albert and Sarah (Costa) DeCosta, he had lived in Dartmouth since 1962. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Prior to retirement, he was a truck driver for Harriet Transport in New Bedford. He was a member of the New Life Tabernacle of New Bedford. Mr. DeCosta enjoyed playing the guitar and riding his Harley Davidson, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Survivors include a son: Michael A. DeCosta and his wife Joann Sullivan DeCosta of Dartmouth; a daughter: Michelle L. Gagne of Dartmouth; a brother: Gilly Costa of Dartmouth; 3 granddaughters: Hannah, Paige and Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Donna Mattos.
A eulogy and committal service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, December 7, 2020 at Rural Cemetery, New Bedford at 11:15 A.M. where Donald will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Geraldine.
