Obituary

Charles W. Weaver, 85, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus. He was the widower of the late Geraldine (Sabato) Weaver, whom passed away in 1997 after 38 years of marriage.

He was born on March 28, 1935 in Berwick, PA and was a son of the late Eli Weaver and the late Margaret (Metz) Weaver. He was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and shortly after high school Charles joined the United States Navy, serving his country until his honorable discharge. He then chose to relocate to the Waltham area, before moving to Tewksbury to raise his family and provide a better life for his children.

He worked as a machinist at Sweetheart Plastics in Wilmington for over 25 years until his retirement. Charles loved snowflakes and trains. Above all else, time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, brought him the most joy.

Charles is survived by eight children, Kathleen Anderson and her husband, David of Lowell, Janice Weaver of Dracut, Judy Cogan and her husband, Mike of Tewksbury, Charles Weaver, Jr. of Berwick, PA, Sherry Hodgson and her husband, Jack of Tewksbury, Audrey Trenholm and her husband, James of Lowell, Alice Titman and her husband, Dale of Berwick, PA, and Mark Weaver and his wife, Kim of Berwick, PA. 

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Tiffany, Tara, Joshua, Steven, Tina, Warren, Eric, Paul, Jonathan, Casey, Tori, Kelly, Damian, Barbra, Timothy and Trevor; his great grandchildren; his siblings, Kay Galutia, Clyde Weaver, Geraldine Titman, Freda Quail, David Weaver and Bobby Weaver, all of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles was predeceased by his sisters, the late Bernadine Weaver and the late Laura Hosler.

WHILE FOLLOWING SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES AND WEARING A MASK, ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND HIS CALLING HOURS ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2020 FROM 4 - 8 P.M. AT THE TEWKSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 1 DEWEY STREET, TEWKSBURY, MA. HIS COMMITTAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT TEWKSBURY CEMETERY ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8 AT 10:30 A.M. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS IN HIS MEMORY MAY BE MADE TO: THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION, at www.lung.org.
