Eldene Anne Becker Allison, 84, of Tifton, passed away at her home on Monday, November 30, 2020. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. A private burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family asks that Covid-19 protocol be followed by wearing masks and social distancing.
Julie Anne Asmussen, Loris Asmussen, Lon Asmussen, Randy Allison, Lee Allison, Debbie Stewart, and Lester Davis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born in Grant County, North Dakota on October 11, 1936, Mrs. Allison was the daughter of the late Earl Ezra Becker and Pauline Link Becker. She attended Elgin High School in Elgin, North Dakota. One of twelve children, her childhood stories were filled with memories of her large family and farm life.
Eldene and Homer Allison, Sr. were wed on November 13, 1970. During their fifty years of marriage, Homer and Eldene enjoyed traveling together to visit family in Kansas, and taking day trips to walk on the beach and going "junking" at estate and yard sales, where they collected china and depression glassware to fill the shelves in their home. She enjoyed music (especially hymns), grew an amazing flower garden, and loved her two grandchildren with all her heart.
Mrs. Allison was employed by Tift General Hospital as a ward Secretary until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church since the 1970s, she loved serving her church family by rocking countless babies in the church nursery. Her love for the Lord ran deep and strong due in part to her grandfather Link, who was a circuit preacher in North Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Bobby, in a house fire in 1949, her mother in 2007, and her brother Albert in 2017.
Mrs. Allison is survived by her husband, Homer Allison, Sr.; two sons, Clay Ferderer of Garden City, Kansas and Davis Allison (Danielle) of Tifton; two grandchildren, Erynn and Reed Allison; eight brothers and sisters, Evelyn Stelter, Darlene Asmussen (Loris), Melvin Becker (Darlene), Delbert Becker (Betty), Rosemary Mehrer (Donnie), John Becker (Elaine), Erwin Becker (Sherry), Larry Becker (Vi Ann), and Marvin Becker (Vivian); one sister-in-law, Isabel Allison of Valdosta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
