John F. O'Donnell, a 15 year resident of Medford and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, November 27, 2020 at is home in Medford. He was 70 years of age.
John was born in Boston on June 13, 1950, a son of the late John O'Donnell and Theresa (Evers) O'Donnell. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School, where he excelled in Basketball. John furthered his education by taking classes at Framingham State College. John was a member of the International Longshoremen's Association Local #805 where he worked on the waterfront for 35 years until his retirement. John was an avid basketball and sports fan. He was a constant loving and supportive husband, and devoted to his two dogs; Riley and Angie.
John is the devoted husband of 15 years to Jeanne (Crowe) O'Donnell. He is the beloved brother of Joseph O'Donnell and his wife Marilyn. He is the brother-in-law of William J. Crowe and his wife Brighid. He is the loving uncle of Katie Scheibert and family, Joseph O'Donnell, and Patrick O'Donnell. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's Funeral on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 5 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home. (FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED INSIDE CHURCH AND FUNERAL HOME.)
