WEBSTER - Constance F. "Connie" (Stelmach) Marrier, 85, died November 26 in her home with her family at her side. Her husband of 50 years, George A. “Chubby” Marrier, Sr. died in 2006.
She leaves 7 children, Karen M. Mason and her husband Thomas Mason of Inman, SC, George A. Marrier, Jr. and his wife Karen of Southport, NC, Nancy J. Marrier and her husband Steven Maycock of Roseville, CA, James J. Marrier and his wife Debra of North Grosvenordale, CT, Brian F. Marrier and his wife Christine of Dudley, Jessica A. Basinger and her husband Lewis of Wendell, NC, and Angela J. Marrier of Southbridge; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Orlowski of Dudley; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson Ryan Mason, by her brothers Ronald and Raymond Stelmach, and by her sisters Rita Kus and Anita Beardsley.
She was born in Webster on August 12, 1935, the daughter of Sylvester and Florence (Girardin) Stelmach. She graduated from Saint Anne’s School Commercial Course and lived on Upper Gore Road for many years. She then lived in Conway, SC from 2005 to 2008 before returning here.
Mrs. Marrier worked as the manager of the sample division at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster for 26 years, retiring in 1996.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church where she was also a Eucharistic minister. She was active in the Saint Vincent de Paul Society for 17 years and also was a weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 30, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Current health guidelines will be in place and everyone is asked to wear a mask. Donations in her name may be made to Care Central VNA and Hospice, 191 Packachaug Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
