AUBURN – Josephine M. “Jo” (Mroczek) Kaczmarek, 96, formerly of Dudley, died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Brookdale Assisted Living, Auburn with her family at her side. Her husband of 71 years, Edmund F. “Stretch” Kaczmarek, died in 2018.
She leaves a son, Michael E. Kaczmarek and his wife Rhoda of Webster; a daughter, Sallie K. Guskey and her husband Michael of North Grosvenordale, CT; 2 grandsons, Christopher M. Kaczmarek of Seattle, WA and Jacob C. Kaczmarek of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 7 sisters, Hermina Madura, Adele Pakulski, Valencia Plasse, Charlotte Klekotka, Monica Goglinski, Tessie Surozenski and Theresa Makowski, and by 1 brother, Edmund Mroczek.
She was born on October 12, 1924 in Webster, the youngest child of Joseph and Leokadia (Bonczek) Mroczek and resided in Dudley most of her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1942.
Mrs. Kaczmarek had a 33-year banking career, starting as a teller at the former First National Bank of Webster and retiring in 1988 as Assistant Vice President from the Bank of New England.
She was a daily communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church in Dudley and a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality. She was a volunteer bookkeeper at the church for over 25 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, cooking and baking.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to all at Brookdale Eddy Pond East, Overlook Hospice Services and Worcester Home Care for the outstanding assistance, care and compassion they provided to Josephine.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., Dudley. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. The family will receive people before the Mass at 9:30 AM in the church.
