On Thursday November 19, 2020 Earl Colebut III passed peacefully at home with his fiancé at his side.
Earl was born in Yonkers, New York on March 24, 1957, son of the late Earl Colebut Jr. And Patricia Ann Colebut. He loved his tribe and family dearly. He always knew the tribe was a big family and kept it true to his heart through the good and the bad times.
As a young boy, Earl was very protected of his siblings. He always made sure they did not go without as an older brother. He loved basketball, handball, bike riding, chess, pool and ping pong. He was very proud to hold the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Ping-pong championship.
Earl’s greatest joy and achievement in life was the birth of his only child. He was so proud to name her Angie Love Colebut. It was meaningful that his daughter’s name started with the letter “A” because it was the first letter in the alphabet and she was his first child. Till this day, you will find many pictures of Angie of all ages in his photo album.
Earl appreciated many friends and relatives in his life with many stories still to be told. He despised those who lied to him or treated him, his friends or family wrongly. He would inspire the young because he loved to see them grow and achieve their goals.
Another greatest love and joy of his life was his relationship with his fiancé Yuanetta Martinez. He finally met his match when he fell in love with a woman who loved him unconditionally and who shared the same birthday as his 3/24/70 and 3/24/57. He truly was happy to live his last days with the one he loved.
Cooking was another love he cherished. Many meals he cooked will not be forgotten by those who enjoy it. He will always be remembered as being a cool guy who loved to look sharp. Earl loved to Live, enjoy and be happy in life. He will be dearly missed by many who new him well.
Earl is predeceased by both his parents, his older sister Debra Flowers, younger brother Linton Colebut, and younger sister April Edge. He leaves to cherish his memories to his Daughter Angie Love Colebut, his grandsons Christian Javier Hawkins, Jared Quinn Martin and his granddaughter Layla Skyy Becton. His brothers: Neock and Kaseen Colebut, his sisters Marjorie Colebut-Jackson, Willow Casanova, Eden Metellus and Thorn Colebut . Not excluding many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Saturday, November 28, from 11am to noon at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum. Funeral and Burial will be private for the family.
