Norman F. Brogan, Jr., 72, died unexpectedly on November 14, 2020 at Veterans Hospital in Providence, R.I. after a difficult battle with lung cancer.
Norman was born in Fall River on July 9, 1948. He was a son of the late Norman F. and Madeleine (Grimard) Brogan.
Norm lived in Fall River and Westport. He taught math at Westport High School and was President of the Westport Teachers’ Union. He was also a math teacher at Durfee High School until his retirement.
Norm was a member of the Blue Water Anglers, a local fishing club, enjoying annual trips to
Block Island with the group. He was also an active member of Joseph L. French V.F.W. Post 2045 in Swansea where Norm was bar manager and often helped to cook for special events.
Norman is survived by two sisters, Nancy Brogan and Susan Mata, and a brother, Kenneth Brogan, all of Florida. He also leaves behind his loving companion Angelina Gastall and her family. Norm was affectionately called “Grampa Normie” by Angie’s grandsons Colton, Luke and Chace.
Norm Brogan was a very caring and generous person. He will be tremendously missed.
Chapel service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10 AM at Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Rd, Fall River, MA 02721.
