Helen Jeanette (Sherwood) Johnson, a lifelong resident of Medford, Massachusetts, and beloved wife of the late Chauncey S. Johnson, died at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading. She was 90 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 3, 1915, she was a beloved daughter of the late Walter M. and Carrie M. (Thomas) Sherwood. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of the Medford Public School System. She was a homemaker, caring for her beloved family and especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was an avid gardener in her spare time throughout her life.
She was the loving mother of Dolores J. and her husband Reginald O. Harris of Medford and Pamela J. Burnette of Medford; devoted aunt of James H. Sherwood, Jr. and Judith A. Carrington; cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 2. She was also the sister of the late Wilbur M., Walter M. Jr. and James H. Sherwood, Sr. and Ruth E. Lassiter. Funeral services were private. Arrangements were handled by the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home of Medford.
