New Bedford – Cathy L. Spinner, age 59, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, MA she was the beloved daughter of Dorothy (Elias) Spinner and the late William Quarles. Cathy had proudly received her Associates Degree and had also been a teacher at the West End Day Nursery.
Cathy is survived by her daughters, LaKiesha Martin and Dawn Sanchez; her grandchildren, Kia Murphy, Anthony Medeiros, Destiny L’Heureux, Ma’Kayla Sanchez and Da’Shawn Sanchez and her great-grandchild, Landon Martin-Spinner. She is also survived by her siblings, Freddy, Linda, Darleen, William and Wendy Spinner; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Marie “Cookie” Gelmete and Leonard “Nookie” Spinner.
Cathy’s visiting hours will be held on Monday evening, November 23, 2020 from 5:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
