Jennie H. Carpenter, 90, of Arden, North Carolina passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020, at her residence in Tifton. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Avery Flay Carpenter; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Carpenter of Fort Collins, Colorado, Paul Carpenter of Arden, North Carolina, and Tim and Tonia Carpenter of Tifton. Jennie was also loved by three grandchildren, LeeAnn and Griffin Martin of Lake Park, Christine Carpenter of Fletcher, North Carolina and T. J. Carpenter of Tifton. She is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Bobby and Jo Ann Huskey of Seguin, Texas and Theron and Brenda Huskey of North Augusta, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
Jennie was an active member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and helping with many church activities. She worked at Taylor Instrument for many years and retired from Biltmore Estate. Jennie loved to spend time with her family, spending time in her garden, and morning strolls with her husband, Flay. Jennie was known for her smile and kindness that she expressed towards others.
A private celebration will be held in remembrance of Jennie for family members. Jennie was cared for by Homestead Hospice in Tifton and, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Homestead Hospice, 110 East 10th Street, Suite A, Tifton, GA 31794.
