Phyllis Jean Johns, 92, of Anderson, died on November 17, 2020 at her home.
She was born on September 9, 1928 in Dayton, OH, the daughter of Fred and Lottie (Westrater) Peterson. She was a graduate of Anderson High School in 1947 and was employed for 40 years with Delco Remy. She was a member of ABWA, volunteered as a Pink Lady at Community Hospital, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandkids! She enjoyed time spent with her friends and sitting in her favorite chair, watching TV shows and the birds on the feeder.
Phyllis is survived by five children; Carol (Jeff Martin) Reeder, Larry (Debbie) Johns, Debbie (Scott) McIntire, Scott Johns, and Sharon Johns; 10 grandchildren; Barbara Dye, Sandra (Brian) Rueille, Alana (Mark) Minx, Tim Johns, Tom (Stephanie) Johns, Summer (Vicente Jr.) Avila, Jeffrey (Angel) Johns, Cody Johns, Chris McIntire, and Nina McIntire; 15 great grandchildren; Cierra, Samantha, Zakkary, Jacob, Darien, Collin, Cayle, Camryn, Cai, Kaylie, Tyler, Jennifer,Valerie, Aria, and Ellie; 2 great great grandchildren; Emeri and Kayn; a brother, Fred Peterson; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Lori Sylvester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J D Johns, a son, Mark Johns; siblings, Kathleen Brooks, Polly Miller, Roy Peterson, Scott Peterson, and Mary Joslin; a grandson, Christopher Johns.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Valerie from Kindred Hospice, for all of her loving care that was given to Phyllis during her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 10 AM at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 2-4 PM.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Pink Ladies at Community Hospital.
