Obituary



David C. Cummings, A lifelong resident of Woburn passed away, Tuesday, November 16, 2020 at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 74. David was the beloved husband for thirty years of Adrienne M. (Borriello) Cummings. Born in Winchester, David was the son of the late John A. and Marjorie (Peterson) Cummings.

David was raised and educated in Woburn. He was a graduate of the Arlington Vocational High School. David enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 and proudly served with the Seabees during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1969. He was highly decorated and received several commendations for his faithful and dedicated service to his country. David was a talented Diesel Mechanic and worked for a number of years with the Brody Fork Lift Company. He was also a heavy equipment operator and was a longtime member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 4 of Boston. He worked on many of the major construction projects in and around Boston prior to his retirement.

When David wasn't working he enjoyed spending time at his family’s camp in Acton, Maine on the Mousam Lake. He loved boating and enjoying time with his family and friends. David also loved music and especially enjoyed listening to country blue grass music. David will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his kindness and love of his Lord Jesus.

In addition to his beloved wife, Adrienne, David is survived by his children; Nicole Cummings and her fiancé Myles Emery, of Danville, NH, Mary Cummings - Gugger and her husband David of Auburn, NH, Scott Cummings of Florida and Karen Cummings of Vermont. He was the loving grandfather of Nora, Emma, Zachary and Colby. Brother of Warren Cummings and his wife Elaine of Woburn. Brother-in-law of Frank Borriello, of West Medford.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Sunday, November 22nd, from 2 to 5 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to attend a graveside service that will be conducted in Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem St., Woburn, Saturday, November 28th, at 11 a.m. All attending must wear a face mask and adhere to social distancing protocols. David was a proud United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in David's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, State House, Room 546, Boston, MA 02133.
