Trieste R. Silvio passed away peacefully at home on Veteran’s Day, in the company of his loving family. He was 85. Born and raised in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Marco and Theresa (Aiello) Silvio.
Dickie was a Medford resident for over 60 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, achieving the rank of Sergeant, he settled in Medford where he went about building his family. The leadership skills he developed in the Marines translated well into his long career working for such large corporations such as General Motors and Raytheon. He later enjoyed 25 years working as a construction representative for the US Government, overseeing the building of various federal facilities. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends.
The beloved husband of Lucy (Turco) Silvio, he was a devoted father to James Silvio and his wife Lorraine of Peabody, Richard Silvio and his wife Diane of Medford, Steven Silvio, Sr. and his wife Ann Marie of Medford, and Frank Silvio of Billerica. He was a loving grandfather to Nicole Curley and her husband John of Tewksbury, Michael Silvio and his wife Sasha of Medford, Steven Silvio, Jr. of Medford, Stephanie Silvio of Peabody, and Anthony Silvio of Peabody. He was a loving great-grandfather to Riley Curley of Tewksbury. He was the dear brother of Geraldine Langan of Bradford, Jacqueline Kahides of Las Vegas, Marco Silvio of Bowdoinham, ME, Robert Silvio of Haverhill, the late James, John, and Sylvia Silvio, Mary Scovotti and Rita Marcinonis.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, November 21, at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10 AM through noon. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Please observe social distance protocols while attending.
