Betty L. Maliff, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and companion, 78 years old of Whitman passed away suddenly on Saturday November 14th.
Born and raised in Hanson, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Bump, and had attended school on Essex St. in Whitman.
Betty worked for 33 years at the Foxborough Company as a production specialist.
She was devoted to her family. She loved playing cards with friends and family, enjoyed gardening, and loved to watch the birds in her yard, especially the hummingbirds.
Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Edward J. Maliff, her first born son James Maliff, her second born son Edward Maliff, her brothers Walter and Bruce Bump, and also her great granddaughter Victoria Linehan.
Betty is survived by her sister Eleanor Condon, brother Stephen Bump, her son Keven Maliff and his wife Brenda, son Michael Maliff, her beloved grandchildren Rebecca Linehan and husband Ryan, Michael Maliff Jr., Morgan Young and husband Derek, Abigail Maliff and Matthew Maliff. She
cherished her great grandchildren Grayson, Isla, and Olivia and her many nieces and nephews.
Betty was the loving companion of 20 years to Joseph DeSilva.
Calling hours for Betty will be on Saturday December 12th from 9AM- 11AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A graveside service will follow at 11:30AM in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
