David R. Bessette, 65, of New Bedford died unexpectedly at home on October 30, 2020. Born in New Bedford, he worked for many years in the grocery industry, most recently as a manager for Stop and Shop. David was a loving and beloved brother, son, uncle, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be remembered for his humor, generosity and thoughtfulness.
Survivors include a daughter, Stormy Tomkiewicz of Westport, two brothers, John Bessette of South Kingstown, R.I. and Donald Bessette of Brockton, a sister, Dianne Bessette of New Bedford, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Raymond A. Bessette and Viola L. (Thuot) Bessette.
Due to Covid19, a gathering to celebrate David's life will be held as soon as it is safe to do so.
