Lynn Forbes Bailey, 71, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mrs. Bailey will be laid to rest at Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 13, 2020, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born August 30, 1949 in Washington, D. C., Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of the late Ian Forbes, Jr. and Doris Mae Ivermee Forbes. She was also preceded in death by one brother, John William Forbes; and one sister, Ann Kathleen Forbes Fallender. She was a high school science teacher and taught in Worth County for two years and in Tift County for 20 years. She was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Forbes is survived by her husband, Zane E. Bailey of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Lauren Taylor of Atlanta; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joanna and Garrett Lightfoot of Tifton and Claudia Miller of Key Largo, Florida; and four grandchildren, Brynn Lightfoot, Caleb Eubanks, Lexie Taylor and Ben Taylor.
