Obituary

Giuseppe Zammitti of Medford, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 10. Born and raised in Siracusa, Sicily, he was the son of the late Sabastiano and Maria Zammitti. Giuseppe served in the Italian military before coming to the U.S. in 1972, where he lived in Reading before settling in Medford over 40 years ago. He could fix anything, and he learned by doing. Giuseppe helped everyone who needed it and would always steer you in the right direction. He was very talented and worked several different jobs throughout his life, most recently as a flute maker.

Giuseppe was the beloved husband of Margherita (Caroti) Zammitti, and the devoted father of Stefano Zammitti and his wife Mary-Grace of Billerica, Carmen Zammitti of Stoneham, David Zammitti of Medford, and the late Salvatore Zammitti. He was the loving grandfather of Stefano Jr. and Domenic Zammitti, and the dear brother of Victoria Scudo and her husband Gaetano, Lina Schiavone and her late husband Salvatore, and Carmello Zammitti and his wife Tina. Giuseppe is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, November 20th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 19th from 4 through 6 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Social distancing protocols will be observed at all times.
