Obituary

“United Arthur "Archie" Florentino, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, November 6, 2020. He was 87 years of age.

Archie was born in Boston on March 30, 1933, a son of the late Arthur Florentino and Helen B. (Armstrong) Florentino. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1950. Archie enlisted into the United States Air Force on June 29, 1950 and served his country with pride and honor during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged on July 28, 1953 with the rank of Airman. Archie worked as a clerk for the Bethlehem Steel Company in East Boston for over 20 years. He enjoyed listening to his transistor radio and watching classic movies.

Archie is the beloved husband of the late Lorraine A. (DeBeaucourt) Florentino. He is the devoted father of Arthur Florentino Jr. and his wife Kellyann, Mark Florentino, Keith Florentino, Mary Merritt and her husband Michael, Linda Houghton-Collings and her late husband Thomas and the late Donna Houghton-Mullett and her late husband Daniel. He is the loving Pa of Alan Florentino, Kevin Florentino, Tommy Florentino, Whitney Collings, Devin Collings, and Shayne Merritt. He is the beloved brother of Shirley Doherty, Robert Florentino, Joan Carvalho and the late Pauline Skinner. He is the dear friend of Kelly Tucker. Archie is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Archie's Funeral on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. His visiting hours will be on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 3 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.(FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED INSIDE CHURCH AND FUNERAL HOME)
