Mr. Fred J. Champy, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of the late Jeanne M. (Curtin) Champy, passed away at his home in Andover on Wednesday evening, November 4, 2020. He was 89 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on October 26, 1931, he was the beloved son of the late Leonard and Josephine (Cavellaro) Champy. Mr. Champy was a Department Chief for Western Electric, for many years. In his spare time, Fred enjoyed being outdoors and loved to go camping and fishing. He also enjoyed using his computer and had a special love for his dogs. He will be dearly missed.
Fred is survived by his loving son's and daughter's-in-law; Brian and his wife Jacqueline Champy of N. Woodstock, New Hampshire, Barry and his wife Carolyn Champy of Dunnellon, Florida, Fred and his wife Michele Champy of Dunnellon, Florida and John and his wife Susan Champy of Woodsville, New Hampshire, close friend; Joan Blondin of Salem, New Hampshire, grandchildren; David, Tammy, Meghan, Matthew, Krystle, Ashley, Barry, Tracy, William, John, Linda and Carolyn, sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late David Champy.
Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Monday, November 9, 2020, from 9 to 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
