New Bedford… Raymond J. Gorman, III, of New Bedford passed away November 3, 2020 at his home.
Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Raymond J., Jr. and Elizabeth C. (Troop) Gorman.
He was raised in Barrington, RI and graduated from Barrington High School in 1977 before joining the United States Airforce where he served in Colorado and Massachusetts. He also earned an Associate Degree from Bristol Community College in Liberal Arts and attended classes at the University of Rhode Island. He was an avid fan of politics and political discourse as well as a passionate follower of New England Sports who liked to keep up on players’ statistics.
He had a keen and dry sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh.
Survivors include his siblings: Catherine Smith (husband, Jeff) of Texas, Carl Drew (wife, Gail) of Idaho, Madeline Jackson (husband, Kenneth) of Portsmouth, Julie Gorman of East Providence and William Gorman (wife, Virginia) of Barrington; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Henry Drew.
