Bridget Kelly nee Byrne was born on April 18, 1941 in Kilkelly, County Mayo, Ireland. God called her Home on All Souls Day (November 2, 2020), which is so fitting for a woman who truly loved Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother Mary.
She was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Byrne. Survived by her brother John Byrne and his wife Margaret, sister-in-law Mary Byrne and brother-in-law Sonny Berardino. Proceeded in death by her sister Mary Berardino and brothers, Joe and Christy Byrne. Loving mother to Regina Armstrong and her husband, Gerry & John Kelly and his wife, Ema. She proudly and lovingly held the title Grandma to Kevin Armstrong & Madeleine, Grace and Lily Kelly. Her grandchildren were the light of her life! She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Ireland, England and the United States and enjoyed the time she spent with all of them.
Her childhood was spent in the country-side in western Ireland where she lived for more than seventeen years balancing an education and duties supporting the family farm along with her parents and siblings. Like all of her siblings, she left Ireland to search for better opportunities in adulthood. She moved to New York before turning 18. She married and became a mother. Being a mother was her proudest accomplishment and it was evident with how much she enjoyed her children. Once her children were older she had a career in banking and excelled through hardwork often obtaining things like Employee of the Month.
Gratefully, she was successful in promoting her Catholic values throughout her adult life – whether it was donating time to her children, her neighbors and friends, her church and anyone in need. She was a very generous and kind person who always put others needs before her own needs.
