Lorraine C. Rost
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother
TEWKSBURY: Lorraine C. (Serra) Rost, age 89, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Saturday, October 31, 2020.
She was the beloved wife of George H. Rost, Jr. with whom she celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on August 29, 2020.
Born in Somerville on August 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles Serra and the late Antoinette (Venuti) Serra.
Lorraine was raised in Somerville and attended Somerville High School. She later received her GED from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in Billerica.
In earlier years, she worked as a Chef at the former North Meadow Tennis Club in Tewksbury.
Lorraine was an active member of the Tewksbury Rod & Gun Club, where she enjoyed competing in numerous marksmanship competitions and served as a State Certified Hunter Education Instructor. In addition, she was a longstanding member of the Billerica Rod & Gun Club.
She loved traveling with her husband to Northern Europe, and taking camping trips to New Hampshire, Maine and Canada. She also enjoyed dining on seafood, and her favorites were the crab and lobsters that her family members would catch and take home to her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, George K. Rost of Tewksbury, Stephen C. Rost of Lowell, and John C. Rost of Salt Lake City, UT; her grandchildren, Brian Creswell, John Rost, Jr., Melissa Rost, James Rost, Sara, Daniel, and Cheri Siddoway. Lorraine also leaves numerous great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late John B. Serra and Anthony J. Serra.
Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service to be at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 6th, at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury. Masks/face covering and social distancing required for those attending.
