NORTH CHELMSFORD___Statia T. (Marcinkiewicz) Zukowski, 90, of 37 North Main St., formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday March 7 in Lowell General Hospital. Her husband of 43 years, Walter J. Zukowski died August 9, 1992.
She leaves a daughter, Susan F. Lavoie and her husband, Lionel J. of North Chelmsford, with whom she made her home, a sister, Josephine Pacek of Worcester; a granddaughter, Sarah B. Justiniano and her husband, Javier of Ohio, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Ann Kwiatkowski and Viola and Edward Marcinkiewicz. She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of Stanley and Suzanna (Spurgiasz) Marcinkiewicz and lived most of her life in Worcester and has resided in North Chelmsford for ten years.
Mrs. Zukowski was a stitcher 20 years for the Worcester Knitting Co. and retired several years ago. She once worked five years for The Mart, a former Worcester retail store. Statia was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Worcester and enjoyed sewing. In her younger days she liked bowling and playing basketball.
The funeral will be held on Saturday March 11 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A Calling hour will be held on Saturday March 11 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Statia’s memory may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
