Obituary

Mrs. Veronica Phillips of Roslindale, Massachusetts, a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2020.

Veronica was born on November 23, 1949, on the beautiful island of Jamaica in Kingston. She later migrated with her three children to join her adoring husband, Lloyd Phillips, of 52 years in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 29,1988.

She was a woman of extraordinary faith, a genuine, compassionate, and vibrant soul. She would light up the room whenever she entered with her merry laugh and charisma. She was deeply devoted to those she loved and was a central figure in the lives of her siblings and extended family. She valued her faith, family, and friends above all else.

During her brief illness, she showed remarkable courage, unimaginable strength, and unmatched faith. She fought a good fight, and she finished her course! IT IS WELL WITH HER SOUL! She has lived a life of triumph, and her legacy will continue. She was a woman of God. She was a good and kind woman worthy of praise!

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Mr. Lloyd Phillips of 52 wonderful years of marriage, two loving sons Raymond (Junior), Kirk (Corey) and her beloved daughter Natalie (Bev), six amazing grandchildren she so adored – Christian, Mahari, Morgan, Adam, Justin, Lai. Siblings -Rosemary, Lorraine, Lorna, Audrey, Donovan, Pearlina, Dawn, Gloria, Melbourne, and countless nieces, nephews, and grandnieces. She adored her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended church families, and friends.

Mama was the glue that held our family together. She cared greatly for every soul on earth- her family, relatives, friends, and everyone she met. It was important to her that everyone around her was happy and felt loved. I know that her legacy will live on in all of us. Most importantly, she knew how much we loved her. Rest in Eternal Peace, my darling mother. Your memories will forever be in our hearts.

On behalf of the Phillips family, I would like to begin by thanking everyone that is here today and for those who have sent their condolences a sincere thank you. We have received phone calls, e-mails, texts, cards, meals, visits, and countless prayers. They have been both comforting during this difficult time and have been a reminder of the impact Mama had on her community.
